Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon 6002G-010
At the international exhibition in Basel in 2016, the Swiss brand Patek Philippe presented a new version of its legendary and complex model Sky Moon Tourbillon 6002 in black guise. The new product differs from its predecessor (Ref. 5002), first of all, by a round case made of 18-karat white gold, almost completely covered with magnificent three-dimensional engraving (requiring more than a hundred hours of manual work to apply it), 44 mm in diameter, 18 mm thick . The crown, located at 4 o'clock, serves to wind the watch mechanism (the direction of its rotation is indicated by an arrow engraved on its end) and to set the hands on the front dial of the watch. The crown, located at 2 o'clock, adjusts (on the back dial of the watch) the position of the starry sky diagram and the hands showing sidereal time; when rotated in the opposite direction, it corrects the position of the moon and the moon phase display. At 9 o'clock there is an oblong minute repeater control button. Another distinctive feature is the black enamel dial, made using champlevé and cloisonné enamel techniques. Roman numerals made of white gold, applied. The gold hour and minute hands are covered with hand engraving. In addition, the difference between the new product is the indication of the day of the week, month and leap year through the corresponding alphabetic and digital indicators in the apertures, in contrast to their analogue indication in the Ref. 5002. The model is equipped with an in-house Swiss movement with manual winding Patek Philippe 686, 12.6 mm thick (quite small for such a complex caliber), with functions of time indication, perpetual calendar with retrograde date hand, minute repeater, tourbillon, sidereal time display, and also displays the night sky with the movement of stars, orbit and moon phases. The caliber is perfectly finished and decorated. Since, apparently, the new product will be produced instead of the Ref. 5002, its circulation will be the same as its predecessor - two copies per year. As for the price, judging by the latest sales at Christies auctions, Antiquorum of the predecessor model, it will cost at least 1,000,000 CHF.
